Thank you very much!

Very soon many of us will be gathered with friends and family to celebrate the passing of one year and the beginning of the next. Within many of our minds we will contemplate the past mostly, of things we’ve done, places we’ve gone, people whom are no longer with us, and then look forward to new tasks that lay before us, resolutions if you will, about how we’re going to buckle down and make things better.

For some of us it’s the same resolution each year: Lose weight, keep in touch with old friends, reconnect with contacts we may have drifted from, write a book, live a dream, visit a dream destination…fact of the matter is it’s the one time of the year we find ourselves very aware of what we miss, what we want from ourselves, what our dreams are.

We sit and watch the day end…the darkness arrive…the clock strike twelve…we promise, reminisce, anticipate a new chance…a fresh start…as soon as the sun rises…a new day…new attitude…new dreams…

We chase the day…some of us…fill it with talk and emptiness of everything we want and desire and suddenly it’s sunset and we postpone those fresh ideals until the next sunrise and suddenly…New Years day was a month ago…month’s ago…arriving in a few months…then a few days away…all over again…

We chase the sun, some of us, watching it rise…watching it set…repeatedly…the one constant that happens each day…empty of full of tasks we’ve accomplished or left finished until the next sunrise…

This is life as we know it. We fill it with dreams and expectations laid upon ourselves to fulfill or leave empty…insert what you will…it’s not uncommon for any of us. The only difference then becomes those of us who do…and those of us whom do not accomplish our goals.

Why? Why is it we have these visions of grandeur but are hesitant on doing the work it takes to accomplish these goals?

Because it’s easier that way, that’s why. To dream and do nothing takes no effort. We are free to dream until our heart’s content…only waking to the emptiness of what truly is and not what could be.

To lose weight…it is a daily effort…an hourly effort…a struggle that takes discipline and strong will. It is not easy, and certainly not something that can be taken with a grain of salt.

It’s a commitment…long term…lifelong mostly…but imagine the rewards of such hard work and dedication: Looking better, being healthier, feeling healthier, the rewards are endless but the work entailed to accomplish this is laborsome.

Tobacco use….drug use…also a significant amount of struggle and work for success in overcoming. We need support, a plan, but when there is a determined will, there is mostly a way.

Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy, this I can tell you first hand. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it, instead…we watch the sun rise, think about doing it, and then watch the sun sink into another evening and then another sunrise…that one constant that is always there.

Life is not infinite. Our time here is not infinite…it is indeed finite. There is an end somewhere into our future which no one know the time nor the day.

Each day is a wonderful gift given to us to mostly do what we choose. Some of us choose to do good towards their fellow human beings, others not so much. But all of them…they are all chasing the sun…hoping for that new dream, that new chance, that new day…

In all of this we come to the realization that everything we want, everything we wish and dream for…needs one thing to come to fruition…and that is…the most valuable commodity we cannot touch or own…is time.

Time is the ultimate gift. The gift of time, rich or poor, sick or healthy, if we breathe, if we exist, we have time.

Time is the most valuable item in our existence and yet most of us waste it like an open spigot spilling valuable fresh water draining wastefully spiraling downward through a drain…

Water recycles…makes it way to a creek or stream…evaporates…rains down upon the earth once again and continues this cycle…

Time on the other hand…Once it is gone…we can’t get it back…it disappears into the past…forever…another constant…finite…wasted…gone…vanished…forever…transforming into history…

If you are hearing this…

If you are reading this…

You are blessed…

You have been given the gift of time…

Many of us spend this gift of time in an obsessed act of gaining more stuff, material things, finding happiness in those possessions that one can see and touch and show others…

Where others…they may understand the most valuable things in this world cannot be seen or even touched, they mush be felt with the heart, experienced, appreciated…like love…passion…that feeling you get when you make a positive difference in someone else’s life and expect or receive nothing in return…and having the time to live life that way…

The sun rises…and the sun sets…each day…that one constant in life until it’s taken for us.

What we do in between those acts is up to us…during that time…that most valuable commodity that we cannot, for the most part, buy more of, posses any more than what we are given to us by life…by God…

Time…if you have it you are rich beyond your imagination, more than you may ever know…spend it wisely if you will…make it matter…make it count…make a difference…to yourself…to others…and live each day in the moment… mindful of that time…that most valuable item in existence…that we all possess until it is no more…

Sometimes you have to go very deep to find what is right before you…

I wish you all a very healthy, happy, and New Years filled with much time to love, appreciate, and be mindful of everything around you.

And I also wish you great success in in everything positive you choose and dedicate yourself in doing.

Thank you for listening.

Thank you very much for your time.

Have an excellent day!

Peace!
